I'd remove Duncan Thomas' photo if I were you - he has been replaced by Mark Thomas (no relation) a couple of years ago.
The link for Greater Manchester doesn't work and it's hard to find any mention of wildlife crime on GMP's pages - am going to a meeting with PCC and CC of GMP 19th March so hopefully will try to make progress in my campaign of many years to get one dedicated officer in GMP rather than the situation at present where each division supposedly has one PC who can spend 5 or 10% of his time on wildlife crime. In practice this doesn't work and many of the posts are vacant including that of county WLO. In the past this was done by an Inspector at HQ in a Policy Unit - there were 5 Inspectors in this unit and they took it in turn to do it as an add-on. This actually worked OK as they worked 9-5 so you could always get hold of them. The divisional ones are impossible to get hold of and the amount of time they can spend is at the discretion of their line manager. When the postholder in the policy unit retired a few years ago, the CC decided that Wigan was the largest and most rural division so the guy who was the WLO could also do the county job. As he was continually off sick this just didn't work at all and now he's resigned and no effort is being made to fill the job. What a fiasco. With the RSPCA likely to discontinue wildlife rescues from July they are needed more than ever.

Great idea and one I argued for all the above reasons. One other benefit would be local government press officers won't be able to censor comments or fail to report isues that politicians woulx rather keep quiet.

Funny you say that ;) I did once have an idea for a sort of crowd sources spam reporting thing whereby reporting a spam user would flash it up to other users to do the same, multiplying the effect of each report.

It never went anywhere because, clearly, Twitter would destroy such a tool in no time.
